Baseball Recap: Carson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Carson waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Central Cabarrus Vikings an 11-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 back in February.

Kendal Sifford looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, TJ Harris was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Corbin Hales, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Carson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Cabarrus only posted an OBP of .167.

Carson now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Central Cabarrus, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carson will square off against West Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Central Cabarrus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
