Softball Recap: Camp Point Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Camp Point Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Brown County Hornets as they made off with a 15-9 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-6 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Claire Huston, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gwen Huston, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Camp Point Central's record now sits at 13-4. As for Brown County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

Camp Point Central will take on Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Brown County, they will square off against Havana at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Ducks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
