Soccer Game Preview: Taylor County vs. Maclay

Taylor County is 0-4 against Maclay since November of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Marauders at 1:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Maclay will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Taylor County extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Bulldogs' defense stepped up to hand Fort White a 6-0 shutout. Taylor County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Fort White with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jha'Miyah McIntyre (3), Olivia Brock (2), and Rexi Blair.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maclay). Everything went their way against Lafayette on Friday as they made off with an 8-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Taylor County's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Maclay, the victory got them back to even at 6-6-2.

Taylor County came up short against Maclay in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
