Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Range vs. Westminster

Mountain Range is a perfect 3-0 against Westminster since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Mountain Range is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

Mountain Range is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Prairie View on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell 4-2 to the Thunderhawks. Jasmine Foltz was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

She and Guadalupe Rivas scored both of Mountain Range's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Westminster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Boulder, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Westminster can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Boulder are ranked fifth).

Mountain Range's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Westminster, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Mountain Range was able to grind out a solid win over Westminster in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
