Football Game Preview: Paschal Panthers vs. Chisholm Trail Rangers + How To Watch

The Paschal Panthers will head out to square off against the Chisholm Trail Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Paschal will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

On Saturday, everything came up roses for Paschal against South Hills as the team secured a 52-14 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Scorpions are ranked 1070th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Paschal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Truman Shelton, who rushed for 83 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Shelton has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jashaun Thomas, who threw for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Chisholm Trail after they claimed the first score on Thursday, but it was Arlington Heights who ended up claiming the real prize. The Rangers lost to the Yellowjackets on the road by a 32-14 margin. The game marked the Rangers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Paschal will need to focus on slowing down Xavier Rodriguez, one of several Chisholm Trail players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 107 yards and one score.

Chisholm Trail dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Paschal, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
