League recap: Pueblo West rises, Pueblo County falls in league standings

Pueblo West made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fourth to second place in the league thanks to a 3-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Pueblo County fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 0-2 in the past week. Canon City (15-3, 9-3) is now in first place.

The Cyclones (13-6, 9-3) have won nine games in a row, the league's longest active win streak. In the past week, Pueblo West won another 3 games, includinga 14-2 win over Pueblo Centennial.

The Cyclones's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 14 hits and four walks, both of which led the league. Pueblo West has given up a mere 71 hits on the year in addition to compiling 56 strikeouts. Kenny Hanson is the leader in that category with 35 Ks on the season.

The Cyclones's Korbin Williams led the league with nine hits this week. On the season, he's hitting .400 and ranks third in the league with 22 hits.
