            Softball Recap: Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets vs. Brawley Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Palo Verde Valley had lost four straight on the road, but  on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 8-10 to make it five. They fell just short of the Brawley Wildcats by a score of  6-5. The Yellow Jackets were not able to make up for their  loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting  back in April of 2021.
  Arianna Lee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
As for Brawley,  the  win snapped their losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 10-16 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory they have posted  since March 27th.
On Brawley's side,  Daniella Yescas made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. Yescas has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  doubles and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Isabella Yescas and  Denae Castaneda did most of the damage at the plate:  Isabella  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double, while  Castaneda  went 1-for-2 with three  RBI and one  double. Those  three  RBI gave  Castaneda a new career-high.  Kaitlyn Castro was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
While Palo Verde Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
