Softball Recap: Osceola Indians vs. Midway Vikings
Osceola extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midway Vikings. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
As for Midway, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.
For Midway's part, Madi McClellan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts McClellan has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Dakota Dean was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Kendall Goddard was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
