Soccer Game Preview: Somerset Academy vs. West Broward

The Somerset Academy Panthers will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the West Broward Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Somerset Academy is looking to pick up the season's first win, something they couldn't quite do against South Broward on Friday. Neither the Panthers nor the Bulldogs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Mateo Gallego and Gabriel Diaz scored both of Somerset Academy's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Broward). They came out on top against Hollywood Hills by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

With that draw, Somerset Academy's record moves to 0-2-1. As for West Broward, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

Everything went Somerset Academy's way against West Broward in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Somerset Academy made off with a 9-1 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
