Baseball Game Preview: Rattan Rams vs. Broken Bow Savages

The Rattan Rams will head out to face off against the Broken Bow Savages at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Rattan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Broken Bow's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Broken Bow will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Rattan extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Rams never let Caddo get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Kooper Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mark Janoe, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shade Cody, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Rattan lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Broken Bow came into Thursday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Antlers on Thursday. The Savages might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Rattan's record now sits at 12-2. As for Broken Bow, their record is now 15-8.

Rattan skirted past Broken Bow 8-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2016. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Savages have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
