Preview: Montague Wildcats vs. Reed City Coyotes
The Montague Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Reed City Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Montague suffered a rough 35-14 loss at the hands of Oakridge. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
The losing side was boosted by Adam Baird, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Baird is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Reed City had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Cadillac by a score of 27-14.
Montague now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Reed City, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3.
Montague took a serious blow against Reed City when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 44-15. Can Montague avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
