Basketball Game Preview: Murray County Indians vs. Union County Panthers

The Murray County Indians and the Union County Panthers will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Murray County didn't have quite enough to beat Coahulla Creek and fell 60-57. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Colts are ranked 137th).

Meanwhile, Union County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 76-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Cobb Christian.

Murray County dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Union County, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
