Basketball Recap: Wellston Takes a Loss

Wellston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 50-38 to the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes. The match marked the Golden Rockets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Nelsonville-York's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bean Martin, who went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Thompson, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Wellston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Nelsonville-York, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Wellston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nelsonville-York, they have already played their next match, a 76-56 loss against Zane Trace on the 21st.
