Basketball Recap: Lapeer Comes Up Short

If Lapeer was feeling good fresh off their 71-31 takedown of Central last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lapeer Lightning fell 68-56 to the Hamady Hawks on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Hawks are ranked 114th).

Lapeer has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Hamady, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Coming up, Lapeer will square off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hamady, they will challenge Carman-Ainsworth at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
