Basketball Recap: Dracut Takes a Loss

Dracut lost to Methuen back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Middies came up short against the Rangers, falling 69-49. While losing is never fun, the Middies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Rangers are ranked 86th).

Dracut's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Methuen, they moved to 5-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dracut will face off against Andover at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Methuen, they will challenge Masconomet Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rangers will need to watch out since the Chieftains have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
