Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Victorious

Chaparral won the last time they faced Belle Plaine and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Roadrunners had just enough and edged out the Dragons 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Roadrunners.

Chaparral had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-11.

Aliya Davis had an outrageously good game as she had 23 digs and one assist. Those 23 digs gave her a new career-high.

Chaparral was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Chaparral's win bumped their record up to 18-15. As for Belle Plaine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 19 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-24-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Chaparral and Belle Plaine will both be playing Trinity Academy the next time they take the court. The Roadrunners will host the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Dragons will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
