North Star hasn't had much luck against Windber recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Ramblers at 4:30 p.m. North Star is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.

While North Star didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Turkeyfoot Valley Area on Monday as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Cougars have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Laiken Grove made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grove was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, North Star got a massive performance out of Morgan Snyder, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and two runs. Snyder also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kayley Brant, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Meanwhile, Windber entered their contest against Meyersdale on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Ramblers lost 15-7 to the Red Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Ramblers have suffered since April 15, 2024.

North Star's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Windber, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

North Star suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Windber in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
