Baseball Recap: Ewing Comes Up Short

Ewing was the 9-8 winner over Spotswood when they last played one another back in May of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Devils fell 8-3 to the Chargers on Wednesday.

Jake Mignogna put in work no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Mignogna wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Wilfry Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Ewing has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Spotswood, their record is now 15-10.

As of now, neither Ewing nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
