Basketball Recap: The Cambridge School Has No Trouble Against Calvin Christian

The Cambridge School's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-58 victory over the Calvin Christian Crusaders. For the Griffins, this counts as revenge for the 42-39 win the Crusaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Lapka, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards. Those 27 points gave Lapka a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb Brouwer, who posted nine points and four steals.

The Cambridge School's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Calvin Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Cambridge School will square off against O'Farrell Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvin Christian, they will take on Rock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvin Christian is facing Rock Academy at the right time seeing as Rock Academy is stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
