Basketball Game Preview: Greenville Spartans vs. Hudson Bluehawks

The Greenville Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Hudson Bluehawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greenville has three straight victories, Hudson has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Greenville will head into Tuesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 51) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Catskill 47-45.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-14, which was the final score in Hudson's tilt against Ichabod Crane on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Bluehawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Riders are ranked 334th).

Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Greenville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Everything came up roses for Greenville against Hudson when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 86-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
