After losing to Parkside the last time they met, Decatur decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Decatur Seahawks had just enough and edged out the Parkside Rams 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Seahawks have posted against the Rams since February 17, 2022.

Leading Decatur to victory were Allison Swift and Maleah Blake. Swift dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards, while Blake posted seven points along with eight assists and seven steals. Paityn Tyre was another key player, putting up three points and ten rebounds.

Decatur smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zion Oge, who earned 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ta'Layah Clark, who had 12 points.

Decatur is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Parkside's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Decatur will head out to challenge Crisfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Parkside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
