Baseball Recap: Whitmire Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Whitmire's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Greenwood Christian Hawks on Wednesday. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Whitmire saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Steele, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. The dominant performance gave Steele a new career-high in hits.

Whitmire's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Greenwood Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitmire will welcome McCormick at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenwood Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spartanburg Day at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
