Softball Recap: Hampton Find Success

Hampton and North Catholic pushed the score to 20-9 the last time they played North Catholic, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Talbots never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The Talbots haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Marissa Snyder's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Teresa Fritsch, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

The win got Hampton back to even at 3-3. As for North Catholic, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Hampton and North Catholic will both be playing Beaver the next time they take the field. The Talbots will head out to face the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Trojans will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
