Soccer Game Preview: Hanks vs. Bel Air

Hanks is 1-9 against Bel Air since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hanks Knights will host the Bel Air Highlanders at 7:30 p.m.

Hanks is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Americas. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, Bel Air kept a clean sheet against Parkland on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Matadors with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Highlanders have won seven games by more than three goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Bel Air and bumps their season record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Hanks, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Hanks might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Bel Air in their previous matchup back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hanks was down 3-0.
