Baseball Recap: Prospect Ridge Academy Triumphs

Prospect Ridge Academy was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Roosevelt Roughriders 3-2.

Prospect Ridge Academy's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Hinojos, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Prospect Ridge Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Coming up, Prospect Ridge Academy will face off against Kent Denver at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Miners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sun Devils have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Roosevelt, they will take on Northridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.55 runs per game on average), something the Roughriders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
