Volleyball Recap: Conway Springs Cardinals vs. Central Plains Oilers
The Conway Springs Cardinals didn't have quite enough to beat the Central Plains Oilers on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Oilers 25-19 in the first set.
Conway Springs actually scored more points across those five sets (109-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 29-27, 25-21, 16-25, 15-11.
Reece Johnson paced Conway Springs' offense, picking up 13 kills. Johnson got some help from Lanie Hartman and her 36 assists. Hartman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Central Plains was led to victory by Tagen Davis and Bailee Daniels. Davis had 22 digs and two aces, while Daniels had ten digs. That's the most digs Davis has posted since back in September of 2024.
Conway Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Central Plains, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
