It was a good run, but Aledo unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 77-61 bruising from the Saginaw Rough Riders. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bearcats came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 630th).

Saginaw's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaden Armes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Armes a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eugene Roseberry, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 21 points and six boards.

Aledo's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 24-5. As for Saginaw, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-19 record this season.

Aledo will be playing in front of their home fans against Granbury at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saginaw, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chisholm Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
