Softball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Allendale

Allendale won the last time they faced Whitehall and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons blew past the Vikings 15-5. Considering the Falcons have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lexie Gunter was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were her first of the season. Tessa Gunter was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Allendale hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Allendale's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Whitehall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Allendale will square off against Reeths-Puffer at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitehall, they will face off against Wayland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
