Basketball Recap: Howard Takes a Loss

If Howard was riding high fresh off their 90-58 takedown of Alpha Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Howard Eagles fell just short of the Community Christian Cyclones by a score of 62-60 on Monday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-58 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Beamon, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Briceson Martin, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Howard's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Community Christian, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Howard has already played their next contest (against Capitol Encore Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Community Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-73 loss against Faith Christian Academy on the 4th.
