Softball Recap: Whitehall Takes a Loss

Whitehall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Newaygo Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by just one run.

Whitehall got a big performance out of Bella Fogus, who earned one RBI, one run, and three stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Leatrea, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Whitehall's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Newaygo, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Whitehall will host Belding at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newaygo, they will venture away from home to face off against Morley Stanwood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
