Basketball Recap: Carthage Takes a Loss

Carthage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pine Tree Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1413th, while the Pirates are ranked 544th).

Carthage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pine Tree, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carthage will face off against Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine Tree, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cumberland Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
