Basketball Preview: Perkins County Plainsmen vs. Leyton Warriors
The Perkins County Plainsmen will face off against the Leyton Warriors on Saturday. Both are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Perkins County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Wallace 68-31. The win was some much needed relief for the Plainsmen as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Leyton put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Hemingford 72-42. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 28 points or more this season.
Perkins County better keep an eye on Zaili Benish. She was instrumental in Leyton's win, going 7 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 40 points and five steals. Benish's afternoon made it 19 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawnee Gamble, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists.
