Canyon waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Woods Cross Wildcats by a score of 7-2.

Kemuel Zhang looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lorenzo Luevano and Blake Lau did most of the damage at the plate: Luevano scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Lau went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Lau has posted since back in February. Matt Frometa was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Canyon's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Woods Cross, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon will welcome Pacifica at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woods Cross, they will host Clearfield at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
