Baseball Recap: Henderson County Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Henderson County's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Murray Tigers by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Colonels: when they faced off against the Tigers back in March, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

Henderson County got a great performance from Maddox Golday as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Golday has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Henderson County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Belt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hayden Turner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Henderson County's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Murray, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Henderson County will take on Evansville Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Murray, they will challenge Graves County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
