Basketball Game Preview: North Hopkins Panthers vs. Cooper Bulldogs

North Hopkins is 0-10 against Cooper since November of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The North Hopkins Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Cooper Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, North Hopkins lost to Boles at home by a 67-52 margin. The Panthers were down 55-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cooper). They breezed by Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy to the tune of 90-11 on Tuesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-8.

Cooper found their leader in sophomore Kelci Sonntag, who posted 19 points. Those 19 points gave Sonntag a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marilynn Wilkerson, who had 14 points.

North Hopkins' loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Cooper, they moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

North Hopkins took a serious blow against Cooper in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-18. Thankfully for North Hopkins, Bayleigh George (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
