Softball Recap: Mapletown Comes Up Short

Mapletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-2 to the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets. The Maples were not able to make up for their loss to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Makenna Lotspeich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Mapletown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Jefferson-Morgan, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mapletown will take on rival Avella at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Jefferson-Morgan is set to challenge their familiar foe West Greene at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rockets 2.7, the Pioneers 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
