Baseball Game Preview: Springstead Eagles vs. Hernando Leopards

Springstead is 1-9 against Hernando since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Springstead will be playing at home against Hernando at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

If Springstead beats Hernando with seven runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Springstead's pitchers stepped up to hand Weeki Wachee a 7-0 shutout on Friday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Springstead let Tanner Henrickson and Taryn Henrickson run wild. Tanner scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Taryn scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Taryn a new career-high in RBI (two).

Hernando not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 19, 2024. Everything went their way against Central as Hernando made off with an 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Leopards.

Springstead's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Hernando, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Springstead came out on top in a nail-biter against Hernando when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Springstead repeat their success, or does Hernando has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
