Baseball Game Preview: King's Academy Knights vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

The King's Academy Knights will square off against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

King's Academy couldn't beat Bellarmine College Prep on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Knights came up short against the Bells, falling 20-7. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cyrus Sid made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Carlmont.

Kyle Sweeney was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Sacred Heart Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

King's Academy beat Sacred Heart Prep 4-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
