Basketball Game Preview: Lucas Cubs vs. Hillsdale Falcons

The Lucas Cubs will face off against the Hillsdale Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lucas will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Mansfield Christian, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lucas came out on top in a nail-biter against Mansfield Christian on Saturday, sneaking past 54-52. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cubs.

Lucas found their leader in freshman Riley Trumpower, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trumpower has scored all season. Emma Brown was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Lucas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Hillsdale against Rittman on Saturday as the team secured a 50-18 win. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant victory of the season.

Hillsdale's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Lucas, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
