Basketball Recap: Marcellus Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Marcellus took on Lawrence on Monday. The Marcellus Wildcats took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lawrence Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-29 back in January.

Lawrence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailey Camp, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 boards. Camp has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 24 times she's played. Carolina Mancera was another key player, on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Marcellus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Lawrence, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Marcellus has already played their next contest (against Decatur), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lawrence also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Bloomingdale.
