Volleyball Recap: Wahconah Regional Beats Amherst-Pelham Regional for Their Third Straight Win

Wahconah Regional waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Hurricanes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2019.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 19-25, 26-24.

Emma Jacinto paced Wahconah Regional's offense, picking up 15 kills. Jacinto got some help from Melaina Haczela and her 31 assists. Haczela also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alexandra Rougeau, each putting up four.

Wahconah Regional's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, they dropped their record down to 7-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Wahconah Regional and Amherst-Pelham Regional should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 46th) will meet Pittsfield (ranked 166th) at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Amherst-Pelham Regional will square off against Agawam at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (44 vs. 161).
