Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shell Lake). They blew past the South Shore Cardinals 71-41 on Monday. Given the Lakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Cardinals are ranked 427th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shell Lake pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for South Shore, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shell Lake will challenge St. Croix Falls at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Shell Lake is facing St. Croix Falls at the right time seeing as St. Croix Falls is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for South Shore, they will take on Spooner at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
