Basketball Recap: East Central Comes Up Short

East Central was the 74-63 winner over Robertsdale when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets fell 51-39 to the Golden Bears on Friday. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why East Central lost, don't look at Trey Maryland. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points. Brody Howard was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Robertsdale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ronald (RJ) Barnett Jr, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Treylin Anderson, who posted eight points.

East Central now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Robertsdale, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
