Basketball Recap: Center Moriches Takes a Loss

Center Moriches was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 75-51 to the Southampton Mariners. The Red Devils were down 59-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Alex Franklin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 boards for Southampton. The matchup was Franklin's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Davon Palmore was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Center Moriches' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southampton, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

Center Moriches does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southampton, they will host Bayport-Blue Point at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Southampton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 86.2 points per game this season.
