Basketball Game Preview: Ysleta Indians vs. Coronado Thunderbirds

The Ysleta Indians are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Coronado Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Ysleta is leaving town to face Coronado after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Indians fell 49-39 to Cathedral on Friday.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Coronado took on Canutillo on Friday. The Thunderbirds blew past the Eagles 59-35. The Thunderbirds not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 (when they won 66-30).

Ysleta came up short against Coronado in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 54-48. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
