Basketball Game Preview: Highlands Ranch Falcons vs. Chaparral Wolverines

Highlands Ranch is 1-8 against Chaparral since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Highlands Ranch Falcons will head out to take on the Chaparral Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Highlands Ranch has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three matchups.

Highlands Ranch easily dispatched Vista Ridge on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Highlands Ranch fell just short of Castle View by a score of 59-56 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Chaparral faced ThunderRidge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Chaparral came out on top against ThunderRidge by a score of 75-62. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolverines who have now won three games in a row.

Chaparral's win came from a few key players Highlands Ranch will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Christian Williams, who went 8 for 16 en route to 20 points and seven assists. His evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luke Williams, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks.

Chaparral pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Highlands Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Highlands Ranch might still be hurting after the 88-62 loss they got from Chaparral in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Highlands Ranch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
