McMichael suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: McMichael Phoenix vs. North Stokes Vikings

While it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, the McMichael Phoenix were not quite the North Stokes Vikings's equal in the second half on Friday. McMichael took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Stokes. McMichael can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their four games.

When it comes to explaining why McMichael lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Belcher. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Belcher scored a full 35% of McMichael's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Cooper Kirkpatrick was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.

The last time McMichael won on the road was back last Tuesday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 0-4. As for North Stokes, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McMichael will challenge Magna Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Stokes, they will head out on the road to face off against Surry Central at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Surry Central is ranked 279th, while North Stokes is ranked 292nd).
