Basketball Game Preview: Piper Pirates vs. Highland Park Scots

Having just played yesterday, the Piper Pirates will jump right back in to play the Highland Park Scots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Piper sitting on five straight victories and Highland Park on 24 (dating back to last season).

Piper is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They took down Shawnee Heights 70-52.

Meanwhile, Highland Park was able to grind out a solid win over Andover Central on Thursday, taking the game 65-56. Given the Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Jaguars are ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Piper's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Highland Park, their win bumped their record up to 23-0.

Piper was taken down by Highland Park 89-52 in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can Piper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
