Bishop O'Connell had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Archbishop Carroll on Thursday. Bishop O'Connell put the hurt on Archbishop Carroll with a sharp 18-1 win. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Luke Masri looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Truman Leckey was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Noah Haught was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Bishop O'Connell lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

The victory (which was Bishop O'Connell's third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Carroll, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop O'Connell will square off against DeMatha at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games DeMatha has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Archbishop Carroll, they will challenge School Without Walls at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Carroll's pitchers better be ready for this one: School Without Walls has averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
