Basketball Recap: Jasper Takes a Loss

After flying high against Carbon Hill last Monday, Jasper came back down to earth. The Jasper Vikings fell just short of the Cullman Bearcats by a score of 61-59 on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Jasper's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7. As for Cullman, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

Jasper and Cullman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Jasper will face off against Mortimer Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 116 places (46 vs. 162). Meanwhile, Cullman (ranked 21st) will meet Vincent (ranked 351st) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
